"Forever Young #1"
"Forever Young #1" utilizes a multi-step process to transfer the paint to the canvas. First, the canvas was primed in yellow and allowed to dry. Next, I poured strategically-placed tempera paints onto the canvas and used a remote-controlled Ford F-150 to create the design for the background. Here are a few photos documenting that portion of the artwork's creation:
Once the truck-painted layer was dry, I used 6 wind-up toys to paint the top layer in contrasting colors. These toys were dipped in paint, wound up, and placed on the canvas pointed in various directions. Here are the "artists":
The 2 bunnies were pretty much useless, as they only had enough power to hop in place. Regardless, I dipped and wound them, giving them a fair chance to contribute. The 2 dogs were responsible for the straight parallel lines, some which curved slightly as they trudged throught he slippery paint. The 2 key-wound robots left behind thick curved tracks, which were a pleasant surprise to me! I let them all paint in different directions, from different starting points, with different colors until I was pleased with the final composition. This series is intended to be whimsical and fun (and an interesting conversation piece).
This original painting consists of an array of colors (including metallics) that would go well in almost any setting. Here are some close-up views of this artwork:
